Introduction

The Shanghai Summit Meeting on Chemical Regulations in China, Korea and Japan(SMCR) is regarded as the pioneer summit in China to communicate chemical regulations in Asia Pacific region. The first Shanghai Summit Meeting was jointly held by CIRS, KTR, JEMAI in 2011, and has won intense support from competent authorities from these three countries since then. SMCR has rapidly become one of most influential chemical regulatory conferences worldwide.

SMCR will invite chemical regulatory experts, officials and industry representatives to share chemical regulatory updates and compliance solutions with an aim to assist collaboration among countries in Asia-Pacific region, build transparent sharing of regulatory updates and enforcement measures, and promote the safety and sustainability of chemical industry in Asia-pacific region.

Background

Since REACH regulation has been issued and implemented, many other countries are following its steps to draft similar regulations to strength the safety management of chemicals. In recent years, China, Korea, Japan and other Asia Pacific region revised relevant chemical regulation one after another so as to keep pace with the international chemical management tendency. This has brought big challenges to both chemical companies up and down the supply chain and chemical management authorities. SMCR intends to bring the latest updates to the chemical industry and build a bridge between the  industry and chemical management authorities in APAC.
